Sea Salt on Third Street South serves a Venetian-inspired menu focused on seafood. You can choose the spacious Third Street South patio, the indoor dining room or a seat at the bar, and there's a wine list. It comes from the same operator as Barbatella, which cooks regional Italian instead.

Barbatella cooks regional Italian food and pours from a list of more than 100 Italian wines. Seating spans a bar and lounge, a covered outdoor patio and dining areas with brick floors and wood accents. Dessert runs to homemade gelato and sorbet, tiramisu and Sicilian cannoli.

Campiello serves Tuscan-inspired Italian food in the historic Naples Mercantile Building on Third Street South. Meats are cooked over an open fire, and pizzas come from a wood-burning oven. A changing Tour di Italia menu focuses on regional cooking.

USS Nemo Restaurant on Tamiami Trail North is family owned and dates to 2000. The menu covers seafood plus dishes from the land. Dishes it has featured include miso-broiled sea bass with citrus ginger butter, grilled Mediterranean octopus, and seared scallops with oxtail risotto.

Escargot 41 serves a French menu with escargots prepared several ways, including the classic parsley-garlic butter. Beyond the snails, there's onion soup, lobster bisque, bouillabaisse, duck confit and beef tenderloin. It's in Park Shore Shopping Center, in the corner between Burlington and HomeGoods.
